In a bizarre incident, a 30-year-old man was arrested for indecently exposing himself to a child and also the attempted kidnapping of that child at a Walmart located in South Nashville, Tenessee. This happened when a woman shopping there with her two kids, sent the older child to find the one-year-old who had wandered from the bike aisle to the toy section.
It was when the juvenile went to the toy section that things started to turn scary as this excerpt explains: "According to an arrest warrant, in the next aisle, the juvenile located the one-year-old girl and went to pick her up. That’s when Jairo Castro-Lara, 30, allegedly lunged for the one-year-old which caused the juvenile to run to the mother and yell for help. The mother followed the juvenile to the next aisle and witnessed Castro-Lara standing next to the one-year-old with his hands in his pants making motions consistent with masturbation, according to Metro police."
The mom immediately informed the store manager about what had happened.
Per reports, the manager reported the incident to the police who had come to the Walmart at 5824 Nolensville Pike for an unrelated matter. The police were then able to apprehend the alleged kidnapper who was in the shoe aisle. The child's mother was able to make a positive identification which assisted the police in making the arrest.
The mother of the child, Sarah Hernandez, was horrified by the actions of Castro-Lara as she explains in this excerpt: ”I was in shock. I was still in disbelief like I see this daily on Facebook, on the news but I never thought it would happen to me.”
Jairo Castro-Lara was charged with indecent exposure and attempted kidnapping of a minor.
