Are you fed up with having your inbox bombarded by junk mail? Then the Hide My Email feature that came with the IOS 15 may be the right tool for you. This privacy-focused feature is currently available to those with iCloud plus.
This is what an article published in cnet.com had to say about it: "With Hide My Email, you'll be able to generate a random email address when you fill out an online form or sign up for something on a website, so you don't always have to give out your real address."
It works by creating burner email addresses than for websites that ask for an email address but which you may not be comfortable providing. It then forwards emails to your actual email address while minimizing where your legitimate email appears.
Here are the steps provided by cnet.com to help set up the Hide My Email feature:
1. Go to Settings, and tap your name at the top to access your account.
2. Tap iCloud > Hide My Email.
3. Tap Create New Address. Apple will automatically generate a unique, random address that ends in @icloud.com and forwards to your personal inbox. If you don't like the address it creates, you can tap Use Different Address to see a new one. If you're satisfied, tap Continue.
4. On the next screen, you can label your address and add a note to help you remember what it's for. Tap Next in the upper right corner.
You are now ready to use your new burner email.
