Several local and Milwaukee area individuals indicted and sentenced on Federal drug and weapon charges.

The Manitowoc County Metro Drug Unit is providing an update to several local drug investigation cases involving subjects from the Manitowoc area along with subjects who were identified as Milwaukee area drug sources.

Amone “Boon” Savanh was sentenced in United States District Court – Eastern District of Wisconsin. Amone was charged and sentenced for Distribution of Methamphetamine and Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. He was sentenced to eight ( years in federal prison followed by eight ( years of supervised release.

Cristian O. Hernandez was indicted and charged in United States District Court – Eastern District of Wisconsin with Possession with Intent to Distribute 500 grams or more of Methamphetamine. Metro Drug Unit investigators searched Cristian's residence in the 800 block of S. 20th Street in Manitowoc and located large quantities of methamphetamine intended for distribution. He is awaiting sentencing in December.

James M. Gremore was sentenced in United States District Court – Eastern District of Wisconsin. James was sentenced for Possession with Intent to Distribute Fentanyl and Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. He was sentenced to six (6) years in federal prison followed by eight ( years of supervised release on the drug conviction and three (3) years supervised release on the firearm conviction.

Javeris M. Lampley was sentenced in United States District Court – Eastern District of Wisconsin. Lampley was charged and sentenced for Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute 400 grams or more of Fentanyl and 100 grams or more of Heroin. Lampley was sentenced to ten (10) years in federal prison followed by five (5) years of supervised release. Metro Drug Unit investigators identified Lampley as a significant drug source to numerous Manitowoc area subjects who traveled to Lampley in Milwaukee to purchase narcotics for distribution locally.

Carmen Cunningham was sentenced in United States District Court – Eastern District of Wisconsin. Carmen was charged and sentenced for Knowingly and Intentionally Conspiring to Possess with Intent to Distribute Fentanyl and Heroin. He was sentenced to 34 months in federal prison followed by 3 years of supervised release. Metro Drug Unit investigators identified Cunningham as a Milwaukee area drug source supplying narcotics to Manitowoc area subjects.

Jose Resendiz-Gomez was indicted and charged in United States District Court – Eastern District of Wisconsin with two (2) counts of Distribution of Cocaine and one (1) count of Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute. Metro Drug Unit investigators conducted controlled purchases from Jose in July 2023 in the City of Manitowoc and located a large quantity of cocaine in his vehicle during a traffic stop by Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Deputies in August.

All subjects indicted and charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

The Manitowoc County Metro Drug Unit was assisted by numerous agencies during these investigations including Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA). Assistance was also provided by Manitowoc Sheriff, Manitowoc Police and Two Rivers Police Departments.
