This River is LOADED With Petrified Wood

Petrified wood has always been one of my favorite types of fossils to find. It's typically few and far between where I live, but I was lucky to find a river many years ago with a LOT of petrified wood. I haven't been able to figure out an exact age of this wood, but I believe the main types of wood we're finding are cypress, pine, oak, and palm. The climate would have been subtropical, similar to today for my area. We also find fossil shark teeth in this river so my best guess is that the petrified wood might be around the same age. The teeth are middle-miocene which would be around 12-14 million years old. We found a lot of nice specimens in this video, and ended up staying into the night! Enjoy the adventure!
