An Ancient Ocean Left Behind Beautiful Botryoidal Agate Inside of Fossil Coral Heads!
Around 20 million years ago, what is now Southern Georgia and Northern Florida was under a shallow sea teeming with life, such as extensive coral reefs. Over time as the landscape changed, the coral became buried and groundwater began to percolate into it. This resulted in the crystal and agate growth in the form of druzy quartz, botryoidal agate, and chalcedony. This material filled voids in the ancient coral and leaves us with the impressive landscapes in them today. Hope y'all enjoy this video, and thank you for watching!
