Local diners are pretty common throughout New Jersey. Most of us have a favorite one we prefer over others. We choose based on nostalgia or just the quality of the food, but either way, many stay loyal to their preferred dining experience. Seven Star Diner in Sewell, NJ looks like your average old fashion local diner from the outside. There is nothing special about the place that makes you want to pull in to grab a bite to eat, until you read the sign of course. They advertise that they are a diner, lounge, and bakery. This is definitely an attention grabber.
When you walk into this diner, it isn't what you would expect from an average diner. The inside is beautifully done with the bakery items near the entrance on display. The dining areas are an excellent size with plenty of space in between tables for comfort. The lounge area is also a good size but not too large. It is set up in such a way that brings a sense of elegance. The level of cleanliness is something you don't see often, including the rest rooms.
Aside from the layout and the overall environment, the staff is wonderful. Even when the diner is packed and wait staff is on the go, their friendliness and dedication to the customers shows. There is sometimes a wait to be seated, but popular opinion says it is worth the wait. Regardless of the struggling economy, the prices are fair, especially for the quality of the food. Of course, everyone has a taste preference and may not like everything served, the quality and taste of the food is a likeness to "home cooked" meals. This is especially true for the baked goods. The cakes and deserts are exceptionally tasty and also fairly priced whether you grab a slice or buy the whole cake.
I am not a promoter for this diner and do not have any affiliation. This is a personal opinion as well as that of others in the local area. Don't take my word for it though. They offer dine in or pick up. They also have plenty of space for gatherings. Check them out and let me know what you think in the comments or e-mail me at communitythoughts@yahoo.com
