Authorities are still investigating after a female inmate was found dead inside her cell at Todd Road Jail Facility early Sunday morning.
On Jun.4th, at approximately 1:40am, Ventura County FD responded to the 600 blk of Todd Rd in Santa Paula, regarding an medical emergency at the Todd Road Jail Facility.
When firefighters arrived, they were directed to the women's area, where they found a woman inside her cell unconscious and not breathing.
The woman appeared to have been suffering from a medical emergency inside her cell.
Firefighters proceeded to provide advance life-saving efforts but unfortunately she was pronounced dead inside her cell.
That inmate was quickly identified as 53-year old Cynthia Louise Rizalla, a resident of Oxnard.
Rizalla cause of death is unknown and is actively under investigation by the Ventura County Sheriffs Major Crimes Bureau.
It is also unknown what kind of sentence Rizalla was serving at Todd Road Jail Facility.
Any family of the inmate has already been notified and is aware of this tragic death of their loved one.
No other information is available at this time.
