A man is dead after being shot and killed inside his own home by an intruder in the Rodger Park neighborhood of Chicago early Tuesday morning.
Chicago PD responded to reports of a shooting on the 7600 blk of North Sherdian Rd just after 3:30am.
When officers areievd they found a 45-year old man in hos living room, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his chest.
Firefighters and paramedics responded and unfortunately pronounced him dead at the scene.
Following a brief investigation, officers learned an unknown man began knocking on the victim's back door and pushed it open.
That's when the perpetrator continued to enter the home. Suddenly the perp opened fired on the homeowner in his living room, leaving him dead.
The suspect then fled the home and ran Northbound through a nearby alleyway, a witness told police.
No weapons were recovered. No other injuries were reported. No arrest have been made.
No other suspect description or information was not released.
