Armed Man Shot Outside CIA Headquarters
At about 6:00 PM Eastern Time Monday, a man was shot by FBI agents outside the CIA’s headquarters in McLean, Virginia.
According to the FBI, the man exited a vehicle while carrying a weapon. He was taken to a hospital after FBI agents opened fire.
The CIA said the man did not breach the compound.
"The FBI reviews every shooting incident involving an FBI special agent," the FBI said via Tweet. "The review will carefully examine the circumstances of the shooting and collect all relevant evidence from the scene. As the review remains ongoing, we cannot provide any additional details at this time."
The FBI Washington Field Office put out a tweet thread on the incident which you can read below.
As this involves two of the federal government’s most secretive arms, it is not likely that much more information will be released regarding this incident. Rest assured, however, that if more comes out, an update to this story will be posted on the author’s page here at News Break.
