General Fishing Notes for South Texas:

As always, pay attention to the majors and minors. Reports say that early morning has been most productive. The water is very warm. Target areas that provide access to deeper water, such as holes, guts, and channel edges. Trout in the new slot size have been hard to come by. You will likely catch many undersized fish before catching the slot-sized trout.

Bait has been prevalent in the bay systems. For artificial lures, start with smaller profile and if you are not get the strikes, size up. The fish have been around shell and reef areas where the water is cooler.
