Target Species:
· Redfish – Great! Anglers are catching redfish in the sand pockets and sand holes. The minimum is 20” and the maximum is 28”. The bag limit is three per person per day.
· Speckled Trout – Good. Anglers are catching speckled trout on the grass flats. The minimum is 17” and the maximum is 23”. The bag limit is three per person per day. These regulations are for areas South of FM 457.
· Flounder – Slow. The minimum length is 15”. The bag limit is five per person per day
· Black Drum – Good. The minimum length is 14” and the maximum length is 30”. The bag limit is five per person per day.

Target Areas and Technique: Baitfish are back in the bay systems. Menhaden are plentiful. Look for the baitfish in the area you are fishing. Various color paddle tails work well. Choose a color that stands out in the color of the water. Shrimp lures are great search baits. Pair your favorite lures with a 1/16-ounce jig head.
The water is warming. Look for areas with grass and scattered shells. The story continues to be about the heavy winds. When the winds allow, the jetties are very active for a variety of fish.
For live bait, free-lined shrimp, cut mullet, cut menhaden, and live mullet work to catch multiple species of fish. Live shrimp under a popping cork also works well. The fish have not been as aggressive, so work the baits slowly.
Forecast Tidal Conditions: The water levels are up. The rising water levels make the back lakes and guts accessible for more anglers. The tides are forecast to be average. The tides are not forecast to be very dramatic. Wind conditions will be important in the coming week.
