Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred on the Eastern Shore yesterday.

VSP reported that, at around 2:30 p.m., Kori Javon Brooks Davis of Cape Charles was driving a 2005 Jetta. Based on VSP's preliminary investigations, it appears when the 21-year-old turned on Stone Rd. he hit a pedestrian who was in the roadway.

That pedestrian was 84-year-old Priscilla King Richmond. She was med-evaced to Norfolk General Hospital but died overnight from her injuries, VSP reported.

VSP has not yet released any additional details about the incident.

However, the department said its crash reconstruction team responded to the scene. Northampton’s Commonwealth Attorney was also brought into the loop, but no charges had been filed as of 8:30 this morning.

This is a developing story. Additional details will be provided as they become available.
