Virginia State Police are searching for a missing, “endangered” infant out of Smyth.
Lyric G. Poston is a 6-month-old white female. According to a description provided by State Police, the baby has brown hair, brown eyes, and weighs 15 pounds. The baby’s height is listed as 2 feet 2 inches.
The infant had been missing since September 13 and is believed to have been seen last at Dry Creek Road in Smyth County.
State Police said Lyric is believed to be with Mackenzie Poston, a 30-year-old white female, who is described as a “suspect” in this case. Authorities do not know what Mackenzie was wearing last.
Mackenzie is known to drive a burgundy Traverse a white 4-door Mitsubishi hatchback and to frequent Sugar Grove/Camp, Marion, Atkins, Wytheville, and Galax, according to a Facebook post from Brandy Nicole, who claims to be a paternal family member of Lyric.
“The child is believed to be in extreme danger,” the Virginia State Police alert states. Anyone with information is advised to contact the Smith County Sheriff’s Office at 276-783-7204.
