Foodies in Virginia mark your calendars. If you want to eat like they do in the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula, you’re about to get the chance.
River Realm Restaurant Week will be underway from January 21 – 31. This 11-day event takes place across 8 small towns in Lancaster and Middlesex counties.
In Lancaster, featured towns include Irvington, Kilmarnock, Lively, and White Stone.
In Middlesex, the featured towns are Deltaville, Saluda, Topping, and Urbanna.
Over 60 businesses are listed on the River Realm Restaurant Week page. Options will range from casual to fine dining. Plus, the event is also meant to showcase the area’s food trucks, farm stands, and Bay-to-Table retailers.
From café fare and brunch to dinner and fresh fixings for home cooking, the assortment of participants and offerings are meant to attract a wide variety of palates.
Diners can enjoy classics, such as pizza, subs, and BBQ, all prepared small-town-style. There are international selections, like sushi, Thai, and Chinese. Plus with 465 miles of shoreline in the River Realm, restaurant-weekers can be sure to find seafood.
According to the event webpage, some restaurants may offer prix-fixe menus, and many will have to-go options for diners who want prepared meals but don’t want to eat out.
Some of the restaurants on the list don’t accept reservations. But diners are encouraged to make reservations at those that do.
The restaurant week webpage allows users to sort the business options by category and by town.
Lancaster and Middlesex are separated by the Rappahannock River running between Virginia's upper peninsulas.
A main goal of this event is to position Virginia’s River Realm as one of the top culinary destinations in Virginia. If you attend this event, let us know if you think it deserves that position!
