One of the most exciting things that is happening in Washington, DC is the Metro Cooking DC show at the Washington Convention Center. Everyone has been looking forward to this event for some time now, and so I'm glad that there was a news release that they are hosting the Metro Cooking in-person from December 4th and 5th in downtown Washington, DC.
Coming back, for the first time since 2019, the region’s largest culinary showcase, Metro Cooking DC returns to the Washington Convention Center December 4-5 with Martha Stewart and Carla Hall headlining the event. Local show organizer, E. J. Krause & Associates is returning this foodie extravaganza to DC in support of the resilience of the hospitality industry as it reemerges from pandemic shutdowns.
This is a great place to shop locally, think globally, and enjoy great bites in samples, and expose you to a lot of different food items that you may not have in your kitchen. And if you had something in your kitchen from the last Metro Cooking DC, it can be replenished by shopping at this year's Metro Cooking D.C.
Recommendations - Do the Upgrades
You can upgrade your ticket to a food event, a tasting event, and then there are VIP book signings with Martha Stewart, Carla Hall and more. There is just so much to do over the course of Saturday and Sunday, it is recommended to get tickets and upgrades to both of those days.
General admission tickets are priced at $20, which includes admission to the James Beard Cooking Stage and the Exhibitor Marketplace. The cooking classes, Beer, Wine & Spirits Garden, BBQ Bash and the Grand Tasting Pavilion are special ticketed events that are sold separately. Tickets are also available for book signings by celebrity chefs Stewart, Hall, Stone and Mixon.
So enjoy Metro Cooking, look forward to spending the afternoon tasting and sampling and grabbing a few unique items for your kitchen, as well as getting great gifts for friends and family. Metro Cooking DC is open from Saturday, Dec 4: 10 am – 5:30 pm; Sunday, Dec 5: 10 am – 5 pm and tickets start at $20. There are add-ons like food tasting events, the BBQ Bash, and wine and spirits events which were another $48.50 to $85, but it is completely and totally worth it.
