Luxurious people surely fawn over the idea of spending a day on the Magnificent Mile, River North, and the Gold Coast, shopping until they break the bank. However, not everyone can afford to do this, or can't justify spending exorbitant amounts of money on clothing articles. Or, maybe you are someone who gets a thrill off of getting a lot of stylish cool clothes for cheaper prices and wants to get a massive haul for the fraction of the cost. No matter your situation, you can count on there being plenty of great budget shopping options on "State Street" downtown Chicago.
My personal favorite is a European store called "Primark" which just opened in 2021. They are a 3-level store that specializes in basics, but are very in style and have lots of affordable options. You can find clothing for people of all ages and they even carry things like luggage and home decor. Nearby you can also find "Nordstrom Rack", with their options surely being a cut above other midwestern cities. You can get great brands for a fraction of the cost. This store has two levels with the clothing and shoes being on the second.
Although this next store is also on the Magnificent Mile, I also really enjoy "Uniqlo", a clothing company from Tokyo also specializing in good quality basics. This location doesn't have as many floors as the one on Michigan Ave, but it's a lot quieter so if you're like me and prefer to shop without the crowds, definitely check this one out. Although I don't typically shop at this store, you can also check out "Ross" it's similar to Tj Maxx and Marshalls but the costs are even cheaper. Sometimes you can find really great items here, but most of the time it's picked through especially on a weekend. It still doesn't hurt to try though, maybe you'll get lucky!
