Jakle's Lagoon on San Juan Island - A Uniquely Beautiful Gem

For being a relatively small island, San Juan Island has some very distinctly different places. Different than most of the PNW, you can find quite a bit of prairie land on the island that you wouldn't find anywhere in Washington. However, "Jakle's Lagoon" possesses many of the things I associate with the PNW, such as driftwood, pine trees, and a misty sort of beach. This area is still unique due to how deep the drift wood goes inland, and the views of the surrounding islands from the misty shore. The hike to get there is also wonderful and quiet through a green mossy forest.
