Colorado has some of the tallest snow-capped peaks in the contiguous United States; many people drive hours into the mountains to conquer these behemoths in the warmer months. However, did you know that it's possible to conquer one of these mountains about an hour from Denver, the biggest city in the state? Mount Sniktau is a 13er that is a short trek to the summit located near Loveland Pass. Be warned that the hike is a BRUTAL incline, but you will be rewarded with astounig views of the surrounding mountains and alpine lakes.
