10 best honeymoon destinations

Although the past year has been a rollercoaster when it comes to both- travel and wedding industry, the newly-married couples surely did not drop the idea of planning their perfect honeymoon trips. Today I am sharing a not-so-typical list of the most beautiful travel destinations to consider perfect for a honeymoon! Let’s take a look at some of the world’s most beautiful locations and get inspired to travel when it’s safe again.

1. Santorini, Greece

This Greek island is one of the most beautiful destinations in Europe. Even though it’s a popular island for tying the knot, I loved roaming the streets and enjoying some of the most beautiful sunsets you can ever witness. The best places to visit in Santorini: Amoudi Bay, Imerovigli, Thira, The Red Beach and Oia at sunrise. The most recommended accommodation: Chromata Santorini, Charisma Suites, Cavo Tagoo Santorini, Old Castle Oia, Canvas Suites Oia.

2. Milos, Greece

While still in Greece, another incredible, yet less-known island deserves your attention. Milos is home to some of the world’s most spectacular landscapes, beautiful lagoons and chic hotels overlooking the sea. The moonscapes of Sarakiniko, dreamy village of Klima, picturesque caves of Papafragas and long stretches of white sand beaches are just a few reasons why you should spend your honeymoon in Milos Island.

3. Cappadocia, Turkey

It’s safe to say that this unique location will exceed your expectations! Take a quick stopover in Istanbul and head over to Goreme, which is known for beautiful landscapes and hot air balloons. We found this destination absolutely unique- the exceptional food, the most unique accommodation and extremely friendly locals- a big YES for a trip to Turkey! If you’re an adventurous couple looking for unique destinations, Cappadocia is the place.

Stay in the Koza Cave hotel for the most beautiful sinrise rooftop views!

4. Kenya

This country is a dream destination for so many reasons. Dreamy tropical beaches, wild safaris, beautiful luxury lodges and incredibly rich culture are just to begin with. I travelled between Nairobi and Samburu, which is home to one of the semi-nomadic tribes. I loved visiting their village, getting to know the culture and playing with kids! If you’re looking to experience the best of Kenya, check The Safari Collection and their wonderful properties such as Sasaab and The Giraffe Manor, which are definitely a honeymoon must-do!

4. The Seychelles

If I were to pick my favourite tropical paradise destination, the winner is the Seychelles! Those islands combine both- the ultimate luxury that many honeymooners seek as well as the most spectacular views and the best beaches. One of the most beautiful islands you can pick is La Digue. If you’re after the best place to stay and have the most unforgettable time, Six Senses Zil Passion is a place to choose. This hotel is like no other.

5. Indonesia

This country is so much more than just Bali and even though the island of gods is a destination I keep coming back to- there is much more to discover. I do believe that Indonesia, and Bali itself, has plenty to please everyone with. You can go budget or spend a lot on luxurious hotels and experiences. You can stay in one place and relax amongst the most lush nature or explore. Bali is a perfect base to take off to Komodo Islands, which is a virgin and relatively quiet area of Indonesia. The wild landscapes, paradise lagoons and incredible coral reefs are definitely worth a cut to your bucket list!

6. Positano, Italy

There are so many dreamy places in Italy, including Puglia, Sicily and Cinque Terre, but our favourite is definitely Positano and Amalfi Coast. The coast is home to some of the most beautiful views in Europe. If you’re thinking of spending your honeymoon in Italy, fly over to Naples, rent a car and take a scenic route down South. You can never go wrong while in Italy. Villa Franca Positano and Le Sirenuse are our top hotels which you should definitely check!

7. Tuscany, Italy

Tuscany is not only one of the most dreamy European destinations to pick for your wedding, but also an incredible place to explore. Starting your road trip in Rome, head North to experience the most beautiful views, do vineyards hopping, take a relaxing swim in Terme Di Saturnia Hot Springs and book a staycation in one of the luxury agroturismos which are the best hotel options in this part of Italy.

Locanda in Tuscany is a dreamy place for both- a relaxing stay and a wedding reception!

8. Tahiti, French Polynesia

With Tahiti being more and more accessible from all around the world, French Polynesia can be an ultimate honeymoon destination. Swim with the sharks in the island of Morea, explore Tahitian black beaches, stay in the overwater bungalow in Bora Bora and take a catamaran tour through the incredible blue waters.

Although Tahiti may seem incredibly expensive, it can still be done on a more affordable budget without compromising on the luxury experiences.

9. Utah, USA

For every adventurous couple, a Utah road trip is going to be a perfect honeymoon treat. With all the natural wonders, Utah adventure is very hard to beat. Visit Moab and the Monument Valley, stop in Zion and Arches national parks, go whitewater rafting and explore the beautiful Antelope Canyon. If you’re looking for an ultimately luxurious stay, take a look at the desert oasis that Amangiri is. This incredible modern lodge is a perfect honeymoon location.

10. Tulum, Mexico

Swinging palm trees, stylish boho-luxe hotels, Mayan ruins and crystal clear lagoons- welcome to Quintana Roo and Tulum! Tulum is a beautiful town in the Yucatan Peninsula and its area is lined with divine white sand beaches and cenotes. This destination is perfect for couples who love adventures as well as chill under the tropical palm trees.

The dreamiest hotels to stay in while visiting Tulum: Habitas, La Valise, Azulik, Papaya Playa, Bardo Hotel.
