Hey guys...
Today's article is a pretty basic case of 2 plus 2 equaling 4 and how people can't grasp this fact.
To begin with, most of you in dutchess county or indeed anywhere in ny state, may have noticed that your neighborhood has been selected or listed as an "up and coming neighborhood", and to some this may sound exciting, indeed maybe even you the reader are dreaming of your town being brought back to its former glory that was immortalized in the photos your parents used to break out of the attic when you were younger...
But unfortunately, and sad to say, this is not the case at all...
While yes your town will be fixed up and brought back to looking like new, that is where the good news ends, and for a better understanding let's look at a list of events similar to what other towns went through in the process of becoming "up and coming"
1. The town gets fixed up
2. The retailers drop in
3. Your town is slowly but surely sold to 5th Ave dwellers
4. Taxes are raised as your town is deemed "more desirable"
5. You cannot pay your rent
6. You are essentially forced to move to yet another equally if not more horrible town than yours used to be...
So as you see it your town WILL definitely be fixed up, but you in turn will be displaced by the influx of high minded rich nobodies who view you as nothing more than an eyesore in their world...
So if you want your town fixed up, then do it, in small ways first... for example clean up your local cemeteries and parks, then get others involved, start petitions... but please for goodness sake, stop waiting for city people to come in and displace you and me because you never know if your town is next
And that's the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.
