In a pivotal address delivered to Texas's Republican County chairs, Governor Greg Abbott of the GOP discussed the recent implementation of floating barriers along the Rio Grande, a strategic move aimed at curbing the issue of illegal immigration.

Speaking passionately from Georgetown, Texas, the Governor elaborated on his administration's comprehensive response to the surge of unauthorized migrants crossing the U.S.-Mexico border.

A highlight of his speech was the Governor's unwavering endorsement of his recent decision to commission the construction of a floating border wall in the Rio Grande as a crucial element of Operation Lone Star.

In his own words, Governor Abbott said:

I will do whatever I have to do to defend our state from the invasion of the Mexican drug cartels and others who have tried to come into our country illegally, and I will protect our sovereignty. It's called operation hold the line. They are holding the line and ensuring that nobody enters the state of Texas illegally."

However, the announcement came with a backdrop of legal conflict, as the Department of Justice reportedly took action against the state of Texas and Governor Abbott's administration.

The lawsuit accused the Governor of transgressing federal law, characterizing the construction of his one-thousand-foot-long barrier as "unlawful."

In a parallel development, Texas has continued its practice of dispatching migrant buses to designated sanctuary cities across the nation.

Cities such as New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C., have received these relocated migrants.

Governor Abbott has previously emphasized that these relocations will persist until the federal government comprehensively addresses the ongoing crisis at the Southern Border.
