Former United States President Donald Trump has expressed his criticism of the plea deal that Hunter Biden, President Joe Biden's son, will be receiving and his acceptance of tax misdemeanors through his social media platform.

Taking to his social media platform, Truth Social, the former president went on to assert that the justice system is broken and calling for urgent reforms to ensure fairness and accountability.

This is what Trump had to say:

Wow! The corrupt Biden DOJ just cleared up hundreds of years of criminal liability by giving Hunter Biden a mere 'traffic ticket.' Our system is BROKEN!"

According to court filings on Tuesday, the Justice Department announced that Hunter will plead guilty to two tax misdemeanors and has reached a deal with federal prosecutors to resolve a felony gun charge.

Sources reveal that as part of the plea agreement, the Justice Department has agreed to recommend probation as the recommended sentence for the two counts of failing to pay taxes for the years 2017 and 2018 timely.

It has been disclosed that Hunter Biden had an outstanding tax debt of at least $100,000 for the year 2017 and another $100,000 for the year 2018. However, he failed to meet the payment deadlines set by the Internal Revenue Service.

The president's son has firmly admitted to a troubled life and a previous "massive drug addiction" in the past. Even though Hunter Biden admitted to those acts, he denied breaking the law on multiple occasions, and his father also denied that he engaged in illegal activity.

Ron Klain, chief of staff for President Biden, once stated that the president "is confident that his son didn't break the law".

However, he also stated that the matter would be left to the Justice Department and that the White House would not get involved in the investigation.

In December 2020, Hunter Biden made his first admission of awareness regarding the investigation that was launched against him, yet continued to claim innocence.

In a statement that he released at the time, the First Son said this:

I'm confident that a professional and objective review of these matters will demonstrate that I handled my affairs legally and appropriately, with the benefit of professional tax advisers".

Hunter Biden could reportedly have his fate decided soon by the federal prosecutors on tax and gun charges, and this is set to reveal if an indictment will be required.

The First-Son has been the subject of a federal investigation since 2018, and the decision to seek criminal charges currently still lies with the U.S. Attorney in Delaware.
