Back in 2019, many politicians and public figures showed their support to Jussie Smollett after the singer and actor claimed to have experienced a hate crime incident -- which he is now found guilty of faking.

Among those who showed Smollett support were Joe Biden and Kamala Harris before they won the 2020 Elections and took over the White House.

On Thursday, a jury found that Smollett lied about the attack, and this has led to social media firing at Madam Vice-President Harris and President Biden.

A lot of responses to this tweet called out the president for how badly the tweet aged, but that was the only decent tweet that went out.

A Twitter user mentioned that people have to "stand up against all the manufactured racism" that the democratic party has helped push.

Many Republican leaders also took to Twitter to share how "Democrats shamelessly fabricate outrage", and this continued with more bizarre responses.

When authorities investigated the incident, it was classed under "hate crime," which led to many celebrities in the Hollywood industry supporting Smollet.

The police were later to reveal that Smollet lied about the incident, and a report from Variety highlighted a lot of celebrities that expressed their frustration with this.

Public figures like Patton Oswalt, Andy Cohen, and O'Shea Jackson Jr. deliberated on the matter, including the controversial Piers Morgan and Donald Trump Jr.

Like director Tyler Perry, several celebrities and organizations, like Out Magazine, wished the attention that Smollett received would be given to real crimes.

Just as there were reports of Smollett faking the entire incident, the show he was on, Empire on Fox, dropped him from the cast.
