Florida's Dr. Ladapo says 'data doesn't support any clinical benefit for children with masks'. But which data says that?

The newly appointed Florida's Surgeon General, Doctor Joseph Ladapo, publicly said data doesn't support any clinical benefit for children in Covid-related situations. But which data says that? And why is he lying?

A few days ago, Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo mentioned something disturbing during his speech pertaining to mask mandates for children in schools.

Dr. Ladapo claimed that data does not support any clinical benefit for children wearing masks to help mitigate the spread of the novel coronavirus.

His point is that there is some disparity between the available data supporting masks mandates and data only supporting masks is widely available.

However, he adds that no data supports "not wearing any masks in the middle of a highly contagious airborne virus like Covid-19" being made available.

Another thing he mentioned is that he has heard what other public health officials in other states (plus nationally) say about the importance of masks, but Florida is not going to follow that.

He lamented that Florida will not follow any of the available data, as it is not substantial enough to warrant mask mandates for children in schools.

After all of this, he still advised the residents of the entire state to switch off the T.V. and not follow what they see because the data being used to justify mask mandates in children is "very weak".

Why Dr. Ladapo is scaringly wrong about his unverified "findings"

Dr. Ladapo was wrong on many things with Covid-19 before becoming the Surgeon General, but his opines became worse after being the voice of medicine in Florida.

Everything that the doctor says has been proven to be false over and over again, and here are the actual facts to prove this:

Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases in the U.S. and chief medical advisor to the president, endorses mask-wearing.

Earlier this year, Dr. Fauci even endorsed double layering of masks - concepts that the United Kingdom, India, Brazil and South Africa were advised to follow as a way to deal with different Covid-19 variants.

Before the vaccine programme could be rolled out, health officials also advised people to wear a cloth mask or a surgical or N95 mask - but more people leaned towards the cloth or surgical one.

At President Joe Biden's inauguration, many attendees doubled up on masks - layering them to create an extra barrier of protection.

At the beginning of June, the World Health Organization advised people to continue wearing face masks while also taking extra measures meant to curb the spread of Covid.

This advise came just when the United States government thought they had a gripe on the virus and that the vaccine rollout was moving fast, but the following month it started lagging.

When the vaccine programme slowed, with masks not being mandated, the Delta variant took it upon itself to spread rapidly.

CNBC then reported that Dr. Mariangela Simao - who is the assistant director-general for access to medicines and health products at the WHO - emphasized the importance of wearing masks.

She pointed out that vaccines alone will not stop community transmission of the coronavirus and that people must continue using their masks consistently.

Experts have emphasized repeatedly that mask-wearing is an essential part of curbing the spread of Covid-19.

In September, Florida registered the third-highest child deaths and Covid-19 infections in the U.S. due to the Delta variant, and at a time when Governor DeSantis was banning masks mandates in schools.

According to data from the Florida Department of Health, the state's Covid response took a hit as the number of Covid-related child deaths more than doubled in just over a month.

Dr. Ladapo seems to be pushing misinformation, disinformation and fake news - which is dangerous and scary for someone leading the state's Health Ministry.

If he has seen or read any data that says "masks provides no benefit" during an outbreak of the highly contagious variant of Covid-19, then why not quote it? All of this means, is that he is funnelling lies to the residents of Florida whose health system, is supposed to be his priority.

We need to ask Dr. Ladapo is this "data" he speaks of from verified sources? Any verified media houses? Who are the virologists or medical anthropologists that are being referenced? What's their previous work like? Can we compare those notes with the World Health Organization? Does the WHO even have access to this supposed "Data"?
