First Baptist Church Middleburg hosted a successful Mobile Dental Event in Middleburg, Florida, on April 4 - 8, 2023. The event culminated the year-long efforts of many volunteers from the Church, Veterans Council Clay County Florida, Inc, The Florida Baptist Convention Mobile Dental Unit, and exceptional volunteer dental professionals in Clay County. Hours of planning and preparation went into this successful event, and these partners committed to providing this essential service to the citizens of Clay County and surrounding communities.
The event produced the equivalent of $40k in the estimated total value of services such as examinations, X-rays, fillings, and teeth extractions for 59 clients. Many of these clients arrived in extreme pain and needed antibiotics for tooth infections. Overall, this event provided clients with 93 extractions and twenty-five fillings, each with exams and x-rays as needed. Volunteers provided an estimated 775 volunteer hours for the five-day event.
