Poker Run April 22 at 9am for Veterans

Veterans Council Clay County Florida, Inc.

The Riders Group of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8255 is hosting a Poker Run fundraiser to support the establishment of a Clay County Veterans community center. If you are unable to attend the Poker Run you can still make a donation online through paypal.me/VetCouncilClayCtyFL or https://donorbox.org/clay-county-veterans-community-center . Any support is appreciated and welcome.

We ask that Clay County residents come out and support this initiative in any type of vehicle. The route takes the riders through some of the best places in Clay County. Bring pictures of your Veteran(s) to show off at the poker run breaks as we know that most County residents have one or more in their families or send them to info@vcccf.org and we can post the picture with a brief story on our website vcccf.org.

The Center is intended to provide a central location in which Veterans and their families can access emergency resources, a computer lab, educational opportunities, a fitness center, and/or social/respite opportunities in a facility without smoke or alcohol present. Veterans should not have to travel to Gainesville or Jacksonville to access information about resources that are available to them.

Let's make this the biggest Poker Run yet!

The Veterans Council Clay County Florida is comprised of Veteran Supporting Organizations that promote the welfare of Veterans and their families in Clay County. Our motto, "Taking Care of Veterans" highlights the intent of the organization. We must always keep the faith with our Veterans, who make up around 16% of the Clay County population.

The Council's Strategic Goals include increasing communications and Veteran knowledge, cultivating partnerships within Clay County, championing a Veterans community center, and conducting fundraising activities. The Council meets the first Wednesday of the month, at 11:00 am, usually in the first-floor conference room at 477 Houston Street, Green Cove Springs, Florida. Contact us via email at info@vcccf.org.
