3 More Restaurants to Support in Oakland Chinatown

Vee Eats

The stay-in-place order has been extended indefinitely in the Bay Area and it's no shocker that restaurants are still only limited to takeout only. As much as I would love to go eat indoor or outdoor, ordering takeout is the best way to support local restaurants while also enjoying their delicious food in the comfort and safety of home. Here are three more restaurants to support and you can read my other article on my top 8 restaurants to support in Oakland Chinatown.

Sobo Ramen

Located in the Pacific Renaissance Plaza, Sobo Ramen is a great choice if you're craving authentic ramen and need a hearty meal for the colder months. They have a huge selection so you'll definitely find one that fits your requirements. They're known for their tonkatsu, spicy black tonkatsu, and spicy miso and you can't go wrong with either option! Their chashu (braised pork belly) is cooked to perfection and literally melts in your mouth as you bite into it. Their ramen noodles are made in-house so the texture is perfectly chewy and bouncy. There is also an option to build and customize your own ramen so you can create the perfect bowl of noodles. If you're feeling fancy, try the lobster ramen. Absolutely delicious.

Saint Anna Cafe

One of the other cha chaang teng (Hong Kong-style cafes) in Chinatown that serves authentic Chinese food. You can find classics from their baked pork chops to macaroni soup to rice plates here. Note: their baked items take 20-30 minutes since its made to order but their other items are pretty fast. Make sure to order their milk tea or classic lemon honey iced tea since it taste just like the ones in Hong Kong. Food comes out quick and the portions for the price is extremely worth it. Most of their items can last you at least two meals!

Cam Anh

This used to be Cam Huong but is now a Vietnamese deli shop called Cam Anh. If you're craving banh mi, this is a great place to grab one along with other fast-food Chinese items like chow mein and fried rice. Their selection is extensive since there are over 10+ options for banh mi that you can choose from. Cam Anh also has a lunch combo where you get to choose your entree and choice of steamed rice, noodles, fried rice, or chow fun for less than $10. What a great deal and you can get the food in just a few minutes since everything is already prepared. Cam Anh is perfect for those that are in a rush.
