PLNTD Coming Soon To Jersey City

Vanessa Vanacore

Plant lovers rejoice, a new plant shop will soon be opening in Jersey City at 16 Erie Street, just steps away from the Grove Street Path train station.

You can expect nothing less than a mini green oasis from this store front, which co owners Danielle and Lauren Gambino describe as a plant and wellness specialty shop.

The store will offer a large variety of houseplants sourced from plant nurseries in New York and New Jersey. These plants will range from ones that are super easy to care for and require little to no effort to plants that are more exotic. The shop will also offer wellness products, apothecaries, and home goods.

Store owners Danielle and Lauren are both huge plant lovers who spent a large chunk of the pandemic growing their own indoor and outdoor gardens. With decades of experience in the retail and wholesale space, Danielle has worked in the fashion industry as Vice President for a designer brand and helped open over 100 retail shops across the country, it only made sense to take their hobby and turn it into a business. Their goal for this venture is to create a tranquil space where others can also find this feeling, learn and reconnect with nature, and feel inspired in their own spaces.

Co-owners Danielle and Lauren have both stated they feel extremely connected to the community that is Jersey City. With so much culture, history, and so many like minded people to meet and talk to, they decided it was the perfect location to open their pandemic daydream project.

With passion comes knowledge, and you can be sure founders Danielle and Lauren will be imparting their plant wisdom with every customer who walks in the door. Clear instructions, watering needs and maintenance of each plant purchased will be given so you can ensure that even if you aren’t a plant expert, you can still watch all your purchased plants thrive.

The sisters have also announced they will be teaming up with local female artists and creators to sell their products in the store. You’ll be able to find lots of unique pieces like hand poured candles and handmade planters.

PLNTED has still not announced an official opening date. However, according to their instagram profile, hopefully very soon depending on construction.
