Ok so you’ve probably had Merlot and Rosé a million times. And although these wines are tried and true favorites for a reason, it doesn’t mean you can’t explore the other hundreds of different varieties of wines there are out there.
So take note and get ready to impress all your friends with your new wine knowledge.
- Sancerre
Sancerre is a white wine that is so beyond easy to drink, it basically just tastes like a really good grape juice. This is for anyone who loves a light wine and wants to venture beyond drinking just Sauvignon Blanc.
2. Cabernet Franc
Like Sancerre, this is basically the lighter and fruitier version of Sauvignon Blanc. Excep you’ll get more of a strawberry and raspberry note with this wine.
3. Brachetto d’Acqui
This one’s for the sweet wine lovers. Brachetto is usually characterized for its taste of raspberries, cherries and rose petals. We’d definitely serve this one up with chocolate desserts or as something unique for Valentine’s Day.
4. Nebbiolo
Nebbiolo is the italian word for fog and is known as one of Italy’s finest wines. What makes this wine so different is it’s outrageously complex profile including cherry, rose petals, earth, violets, truffle and licorice notes, it’s also high in acid and tannins, making it a real sensory experience.
5. Beer-Wine Hybrid
More of a beer lover? Well hold on there’s actually a wine for that. If you’ve never had a beer-wine hybrid drink you’re seriously missing out. One popular option is Dogfish Head’s Midas Touch, a wine beer brewed with white Muscat grapes, barley, wildflower honey and saffron.
