With Crime and Hardship Prevalent Texas Man Seeks To Inspire Others To Be the Beacon of Light

Award PresentedJason Rodriguez

With thousands of hours of volunteer service, Jason Rodriguez of the Pasadena Texas Community was honored for his civic engagement last week with the US President’s Gold Achievement Award.

The President's Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) was created in 2003 by President George W. Bush to honor people who have volunteered service to communities across the United States of America. The award has continued under each administration since its inception.

The PVSA is one of the highest civilian merit awards the US President can bestow to citizens. The program is part of the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation programs led by AmeriCorps and Points of Light.

Today he is planning for a rosary rally later this year as the Volunteer Campaign Captain of America Needs Fatima (ANF). ANF is a campaign of the American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family and Property (TFP).

The mission of the rally is to share the importance and power of praying the Rosary, a mission Jason feels will honor his grandmothers.

We asked Jason if he wanted to share any words. He wrote back, “I call on everyone to:

  • Seek peace within yourself and peace for others
  • Reach out in service
  • Protect the environment
  • Respect diversity and be a responsible citizen of our great country and the universe at large
  • Respect all the weak and afflicted, be the defender of them
  • Be the change maker and champion of the right and the good against injustice

He ended with a quote from Bobby Kennedy saying,

Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, those ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance. -End Quote-
