Aging Apartments In FL Will Be Converted To An Upgraded $59 Million Affordable Housing Project
If you have lived (or have considered living) in Florida over the past couple of years, you are probably aware that there is a shortage of affordable housing in the Sunshine State. The Florida Policy Institute has indicated that Florida has become one of the least affordable places to live in the entire USA. However, in recent months, some projects in Florida have addressed affordable housing. I've written about a Best Western, an abandoned hospital, and an old lumber yard potentially becoming affordable housing. And now, apartments in Largo may get the same treatment, plus upgrades.

Opinion: Evicted homeless hotel residents spend holidays back on streets of Denver
I often write about the nonsense that transpires at Fusion Studios, the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless property where I live. There is a lot of noise and violence here and I often feel as though management tolerates too much. But people do sometimes get thrown out of here, and often they stay in the neighborhood when they return to the streets.

How hospitals can help end homelessness
Although it may seem counterintuitive, hospitals release people experiencing homelessness back to the streets all the time, according to Dr. Richard Bryce of Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. Perhaps they’re treated for a leg infection, then returned to the cold concrete that caused the wound. Chances are they will end up in the hospital again, he said. Indigent care costs taxpayers more than $70 million annually in Denver, and that number is going up now that a sales tax has been approved to benefit the hospital.
