The LHSAA released the Division III and IV playoffs on Sunday morning. The new format of Division is based on enrollment and separated by the new definition of Select and Nonselect. The number of teams qualifying also changed to 28 for non-select and 24 for select. This will open up four first-round byes in the non-select divisions and eight in the select divisions.
Many and Homer were the benefactors in the non-select division and will be guaranteed a home second-round playoff game. Calvary, North Caddo, St. Mary’s, and Glenbrook all received first-round byes in the select divisions
Looking at the brackets, Logansport could have the most interesting journey. Class A Logansport will start their journey against local Class 2A Jonesboro-Hodge at home. A second round against either East Feliciana or Elton possibly followed by a last year Class A state championship rematch against Homer in the quarterfinals.
Glenbrook is playing in their first LHSAA playoff and will have to wait a week due to a bye. The Apaches could be on a collision course with Ouachita Christian in the quarterfinals.
An upset by Red River over Rosepine could setup a matchup with Winnfield in the second round.
Playoff will begin end of this week
