Vang Gogh's Immersive art exhibit opens on July 31, 2021, through January 2022. The exhibit is engrossing, gorgeous, and a bit sinister. The gallery has photoshopped Angelenos’ living counterparts wander through the foyer, where blown-up versions of Van Gogh's smoldering eyes and a recognizable signature greet.
You will head down to a neon entrance tunnel and aboard toward the absinthe bar framed in a field of sunflowers. It is one of Van Gogh's favorite subjects. The LA exhibit also features a Gogh-sized painting of the Hollywood Sign in tribute to its forebear, small billboards on the roof styled like famous album covers.
The walls and floors of the room are covered in a projected checkerboard. One can feel and see that images flood into the room as quickly as light from the windowpane. There is an addition of bright-white social-distancing circles marking the floor every six feet like a neat and orderly pox.
