This weekend was full of music based on vintage sci-fiction and exciting artwork with dance and photography. This online event had a storytelling project with bilingual and belongingness.
28th May, Friday (Art)
Kandis Williams at Laxart. "The Absolute Right to Exclude" was a multi-disciplinary start of Cassandra Press. They had some powerful and hard-hitting topics like race, feminism, power and aesthetics. Cassandra has now grown up into a full-fledged educational source and also conducts virtual workshops. The Cassandra was on view from 28th May-31st July at Laxart Hollywood.
Reading- From the Earth to the Moon at Caltech
Caltech presents a virtual reading of the musical "From the Earth to the Moon" by Cole Remmen and Grant Remmen, directed by Brian Brophy. The event had a live Q&A with the writers, director and cast. The event witnessed a timeless adventure of ambition, friendship, love and problem-solving. The event took place online on 28th May, 7 PM.
29th May, Saturday
Talk: Photography and Representation at Bridge Projects. Susan Anderson at CAAM had undertaken several photography collection projects and had created a landmark. In this event, she talked about the contribution of the Black Community in Photography, particularly about Deena Lawson and Lezley Saar. The event took place on 29th May, online.
Art (Naotaka Hiro at the Box)
The feeling and weight of an illness during the covid-19 is the armor. Hiro is known for presenting things and feelings of his own. His work is a process to present anxiety and confusion of his body to the world. The event started on 29th May till 24th July at The Box, 805 Traction Ave, Downtown.
It's Negative Closing at MIM Gallery (Art)
The event featured artist Tarrah Krajnak in celebration of Its Negative Closing. Tarrah read sections from her new single “El Jardîn De Senderos Que Se Bifurcan” at 4:30pm.
Opera Overtone (Original Vision)
It was a development workshop. The event featured three short films that are still in the production stage and looking for screening. The short films were all about history, birdsong, pancakes, and motley emotions. The event took place on 29th May, 7 PM for $10.

Dance Battle
Tommy, The Clown, presents the battlefield, the originator of hip-hop clowning dance. He says that this is a big moment for the squad. The motive of the event is to bring forward talented kids and also attract potential talent. The event will take place on 30th May, online at 3 PM.
