Nicola Rodriguez started her career in interior design in 2002. This came about when she was expecting her first daughter and used to watch a lot of ‘House Doctor’ programmes and was always praised by others for how she decorated and maintained her home.
Nicola studied at Open University after her daughter was born and qualified as an Interior Designer.
From 2002-2015, Nicola took a break from working full-time to part-time where she was a Mummy (having her Son in 2010), and in 2018, the Essex House Dolly was created.
Within this timeframe, Nicola has trained in a luxury hotel in Essex on how to present rooms (2018), worked in an interior design consultancy in Essex (2006-2007), and is a columnist for Out News Global (2019-2020).
Nicola also has experience working in PR, charity work (autism), and also Talent Management (2016-2020).
Sadly in March 2020, the Pandemic did affect her business due to the restrictions but in July 2021, The Essex House Dolly was back in full swing!
Nicola has a variety of clients she has added her magic sparkle to their homes which include footballers, reality stars, and those in the public eye.
In January 2020, Nicola successfully completed her Diploma in Stress Management & Anxiety Disorders to help when understanding mental health, especially when working with Clients who struggle with maintaining their homes.
Nicola has been featured in national media such as Forbes, Metro, The Guardian, The Express, The Sun, NRLA Magazine, Ideal Home Magazine, Huffington Post, Woman & Home Magazine, House Beautiful Magazine, and Closer Magazine with her cleaning tips and tricks, as well as interior ideas and how to keep your home organized.
The Essex House Dolly has also been involved with campaigns for AEG, Matalan, Zoella, and NEXT.
Nicola not only has the expertise to deep clean your home but also has tricks and tips for organizing, decluttering, and making your home look like a Showhome. Her services include housekeeping, reorganizing/decluttering, and interior design. Nicola adds her personal touch of creating your home into your sanctuary with her bespoke finishing touches.
Nicola’s positivity and attention to detail shine with reorganizing wardrobes, kitchens, and toy rooms. “A Tidy house is a Tidy Mind” is the Essex House Dolly Motto!
In October this year, Nicola will be one of the speakers at The Clean & Tidy Show which will be held at the London Excel. This will be Nicola’s first public speaking event and one which she is excited to do.
Nicola’s passion is to alongside adding her sparkle to your home with her variety of services but to also empower women so that they do not need a man to complete their life and also they can learn DIY around the home. In September 2021, Nicola fled a toxic, narcissistic, and domestic abusive relationship with her ex-boyfriend in which she had to start her life from scratch. If she hadn’t had the support of her son’s father or somewhere to stay, she would have had to have gone to a women’s refuge with her son. Nicola has a passion to want to help empower and motivate women so that when they have the strength to leave men like this, they can make their home their safe place without a huge expense. Nicola is living proof that you can change your life when you are faced with being homeless and openly talks about having to find a new home, a new car, set up a business, and be a mum all in the space of a week.
Nicola has embarked on a journey for the last 19 months of staying on her own and focusing on building her Essex House Dolly brand, finding herself through intense therapy and life coaching and evaluating her new life and self.
With her knowledge of cleaning, how to make your home your haven, and life education of being in a horrendous relationship for 2 years of being controlled and bullied, managing being a working single mum and living with Anxiety Disorder, Nicola helps every client she works with to turn their life around in one form or another.
To keep up to date with Nicola’s journey her social media platforms are @essexhousedolly and tickets will be on sale for the Clean & Tidy Show later on in the year.
