ST.LOUIS, MO - A total of five players is expected to be selected by St. Louis by the NHL Draft, which will be held virtually for the second consecutive year.

The first round begins Friday, July 23 at 7 p.m. ESPN 2's CT. From 10 a.m. to noon, Rounds 2-7 will be held on July 24. Tune in to NHL Network at CT.

Blues draft picks for 2021:

1st Round - No. 17, Zachary Bolduc.

Blues drafted center Zachary Bolduc with their first-round pick (17 overall). According to the player's roster, he is 19 years old and stands 6 feet 1 inches tall, and weighs 174 pounds.

When given space to shoot, Bolduc takes a few steps, his leg is kicked back, and he can shoot past the goalie. This is what Elite Prospects calls his "stickhandling motions."

He posted 81 points (40 goals, 41 assists) in 82 games with the Rimouski Oceanic of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League these past two seasons - ranked second among first-year players in points (52) and goals (30) in 2019-20, winning the QMJHL rookie of the year award.

Bolduc describes himself as someone who can play center or on the wing, can skate well, and has a great shot. "Also can pass it. I'm creative with the puck, I like to create some plays. I can be a physical, fast, skilled game. I can play any type of game. That's me." he noted.

Following are the rest of their picks:

Round 3 - No. 81

Round 5 - No. 145

Round 6 - No. 177

Round 7 - No. 198 (from DET)

In the draft notes from the 2010 NHL Draft, it is noted that the Arizona Coyotes forfeited their first-round pick (No. 11) for violating League policies regarding combine testing. Blues pick 16th in actuality, but the official records will show them selecting at No. 17.

A conditional 12th round pick and a second-round pick in the 2021 NHL Draft were traded by the Blues to the Buffalo Sabres in the deal that landed Ryan O'Reilly in St. Louis in 2018.

The pick was eventually traded to Vegas, which sent it to Los Angeles in exchange for Alec Martinez.

On Feb. 18, 2020, the Blues' fourth-round pick (No. 113 overall) was traded to the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for Marco Scandella.

Detroit Red Wings acquired the Blues' seventh-round pick (203rd overall) at the NHL Draft in exchange for their seventh-round pick in 2021 (198th). Originally, the Blues selected a seventh-round pick (No. 209) in 2021 from the Carolina Hurricanes.

A fifth-round pick in 2020 as well as Joel Edmundson and Dominik Bokk were acquired by Carolina Hurricanes in the deal that brought Justin Faulk to the Blues on Sept. 24, 2019.
