According to a news report from The Center Square, the 2020 Census reveals a decent amount of growth for the population of the United States of America. The US population grew about seven percent from 2010 to 2020 which means there are twenty million more people living here than we had in the past decade. Now, more than eighty percent of metro areas in the U.S. have been reporting population growth according to demographic data from the D.C.-based firm called Woods & Poole Economics, Inc.
Charlotte, NC is one of those growing metropolitan regions and it is predicted that the Charlotte-Concord-Gastonia metro area will grow from two million seven hundred thirty-eight thousand eight hundred people in 2022 to four million three hundred thirty-nine thousand four hundred people by the year 2060 if the population growth trends we are seeing now continue. Employment will, hopefully, grow to match the growing demand for jobs this particular population boom would require. It is projected that over the next forty years, employment in Charlotte, NC will grow by one hundred and four percent. Ir is also believed that the personal income per capita for people living in Charlotte will grow from $63,221 in 2022 to $389,430 in 2060.
All of this seems like a bunch of positive predictions for the future of Charlotte, NC and hopefully, for the people of Charlotte, the best aspects of these predictions will come to pass. All of these educated guesses would place Charlotte as the 26th fastest growing metro area in the United States, but only time will tell if Woods & Poole Economics model is accurate!
