Shoppers Outraged Over Walmart's Failure to Keep Up with Technology As Walmart Refuses to Offer Apple Pay

Walmart, the retail giant, has been facing criticism from customers over its decision to not offer Apple Pay.

Apple Pay is one of the most popular forms of payment in the country, allowing customers to pay with their phone by placing it near the card reader. Other stores like CVS, Target, Best Buy, and Staples all accept this form of payment, which saves time and eliminates the need for keypad interactions.

Why Shoppers are Frustrated:

Shoppers are frustrated and taken aback by the lack of Apple Pay at Walmart. Many customers have taken to social media to voice their opinions, with comments like “I can’t believe Walmart still doesn’t have Apple Pay” and “Walmart not having Apple Pay is the most annoying thing ever.” Despite the criticism, Walmart has yet to change its stance on offering Apple Pay.

Alternate Payment Methods at Walmart:

Instead of offering Apple Pay, Walmart is encouraging its customers to download the Walmart app, which offers several features, including a touchless payment feature called Walmart Pay. By downloading the app and becoming a Walmart Plus member, customers can use their smartphones as a scanner for Walmart items, allowing for contact-free checkout.

Other Touchless Payment Services Not Supported:

It’s not just Apple Pay that is not supported at Walmart. Services like Google Pay and Samsung Pay are also not accepted in the stores. The only forms of payment accepted at Walmart include debit and credit cards, PayPal, and Affirm.

Conclusion:

Despite the growing popularity of touchless payment methods like Apple Pay, Walmart has yet to offer it to its customers. The retail giant is instead encouraging its customers to use the Walmart app and become Walmart Plus members for touchless checkout. While this may not be the solution that some customers were hoping for, it still offers a convenient and contact-free payment option.
