I was curious about the small boba shop in a strip mall in Hillsboro. On a Saturday, my husband and I decided to stop in. It turns out it is more than a place for yummy drinks.
Bobalicious Cafe serves a large variety of Filipino traditional dishes.
As luck would have it, on the weekends, they have one-of-a-kind dishes. One of them is now our favorite dish. It is a stir-fried pork dish served over rice called sisig. I love the herbs, spices, peppers, and creaminess of this dish.
We like it so much, we stop by almost every weekend to get some. Once you visit here, you will fall in love with the food and the people.
The ladies who run the cafe are very friendly, and they will tell you what the current dishes are. They always have a wide variety of meat and veggie stews you can order in small or large quantities. If you want steamed rice, they will include that as well.
We also ordered their chicken adobo, a classic dish. It was tender and flavorful as well.
They also offer a large selection of chips and crunchy snacks on shelves near the register. I have not tried these yet, but their flavors are tempting.
As far as drinks go, they have a wide variety of options, from fruity to milky.
I ordered their special Halo-Halo. It is more like a dessert than a drink. It consists of a slushy vanilla drink topped with ube (purple sweet potato) ice cream and delicious jelly chunks on the bottom.
It is a colorful and fun treat!
We both look forward to trying more of their home-style dishes, as well as their boba drinks.
I invite you to try something new and stop by today!
