Located next to the fabulous Mexican restaurant, La Mixteca, Su Casa Super Mercado is a wonderful Mexican market and grocery store. They have a wide selection of fresh and packaged foods as well as a full-service bakery, meat market, and cheese market.
This is one of the largest, most organized Mexican markets I have been to.
I loved this market from the moment I walked in. Not only do they have a variety of groceries, but they also have small shops within the store.
There is a shop filled with small items like bracelets, face masks, paintings, and warm blankets. If you have never experienced a soft, heavy Mexican blanket, this fall is the season to purchase one here. Since I lived in and visited Mexico many times during the winter months, these blankets are legendary!
There is also a shop dedicated to the sale and repair of jewelry and watches. A great place to find a special gift!
There was also a small store inside that was not open at the time, but the windows on the other side showed hand-embroidered Mexican blouses and more. I am curious to stop by at a later date to see what is offered here.
If you love flavorful jello and cakes, Su Casa has you covered. They have small varieties of jello and flan available in a case, as well as large ones to serve at a gathering. I love how colorful they are!
Next, I noticed the lovely selection of sweet and savory bread and desserts in the bakery section of the store. You often cannot find as much savory bread for making tortas or sandwiches, so I appreciate they have a lot to choose from.
The funniest and most delightful pick from the bakery was these yellow emoji face cookies. I call them "meh cookies" because instead of a smile they just have a straight line for the mouth. Perhaps they feel neutral about everything? You'll delight in whatever sweets you find here!
I also loved all of the pottery on offer at Su Casa. They have lovely painted pots, salsa bowls, tortilla warmers, jugs, and more. They are reasonably priced and would make a great addition to your home, or as a gift.
You can find everything from limes to pinatas at Su Casa. You can do all of your grocery shopping, pick up a few gifts and housewares all in one stop.
On our trip, I ended up buying some delicious Mexican candies to take home and enjoy.
When I was at this supermarket, I felt like I was back in Mexico again. Everyone was very friendly, and I appreciate the care they take with all of their products.
