Just a short 20-minute drive from my home in Beaverton brought me to a lovely coffee shop that felt like it was in the middle of downtown Portland.

Located in a small strip mall off of Canyon in the Southwest Portland neighborhood of Raleigh Hills, this shop delivers on flavor and flair.

This place has everything that a serious coffee shop has, but they inject fun and whimsy into the mix. I love all of the breakfast and drink offerings they have.

As soon as I spotted this gem on Yelp, I knew I had to go check it out immediately. I fell in love with all of the fantastic photos of breakfast and delicious coffee.

The fun started when I walked into the shop. A man who had been standing over by the window working his laptop put on a Jason mask. It made me jump for a second and then smile behind my face mask.

I love the sense of humor this shop has while maintaining safety protocols during the pandemic.

They are a small, local shop, and currently, they don't have indoor seating available. There is a small picnic table in front of the shop where you can sit and enjoy your coffee.

I love the fun, local, supportive vibe this shop has. I noticed that they had local t-shirts, coffee, jewelry, and more for sale.

They serve locally roasted Thorton coffee, something I appreciate. When a shop cares enough to use local products, they are a winner in my book.

I decided to order a fresh fruit smoothie for my son. It is a blend of berries, pineapple, and orange juice. It was a beautiful purple color, and it did not come out of a package but was blended up fresh.

For myself, to taste the flavor of the coffee, I decided to order a cortado. It is not a drink I usually order, but I love how the notes of the coffee come through.

Of course, I had to order their specialty breakfast: avocado toast with a fried egg on top.

It was one of the most beautiful, generous portions of this dish I have ever seen. The egg was perfectly cooked and fluffy. The avocados were perfectly ripe, smashed to perfection, and topped with yummy chili-salt seasonings.

They serve this monstrous breakfast on Grand Central Bakery's multigrain bread toasted to perfection to hold all of that scrumptious avocado.

I also noticed on their menu that they offer bagels and English muffins made by Kenny and Zukes in Portland. Local baked goods are a plus in my book.

They also offer some lunch sandwiches like a Cubano or a melted cheese and sausage sandwich.

If you become a big fan of this coffee shop, you can also support them by purchasing t-shirts, hats, and cups bearing their iconic logo. I love that they include a Jason mask t-shirt printed with "The Coffee Shop" on it. So much fun!

I love the heart and soul of this family-owned and operated shop who quit their day jobs to bring this coffee shop of their dreams into the world.

I look forward to coming in again to enjoy the warmth and heart of this place.

If you are searching for a fun local spot to try for your morning coffee and some breakfast, this is the place to check out! The best part is it is very close to Beaverton.
