If you are eager to travel, look no further than this Hillsboro restaurant to allow you to feel as if you were in Central America.

Antojitos House, located in an industrial park off of Cornelius Pass Road, is an authentic taste of Salvadoran, Honduran, and Venezuelan cuisines.

To me, this place has always felt like home. From the first moment I set foot in this eatery, I knew it would be love at first bite.

As a family, we have tried nearly everything on the menu, so we have settled in on our favorites while still exploring their specials from time to time.

I have had dinner, lunch with a friend and my birthday at this place just two years ago. Every time, it feels as if you are at someone's home. You are treated like family here.

I love the colorful decor, Spanish TV playing, and the big menu on the wall with pictures of the dishes. It is easy to see what sounds best to order.

This past weekend we were craving food from Antojitos House. We had spent a long time doing yardwork and needed a break.

My son's favorite dish is the beef empanadas. They are fried corn turnovers with your choice of filling. They are always crispy and fresh. The empanadas come with a side of creamy green salsa for dipping.

My husband and I both love their arepas. These are Venezuelan specialties. They are corn masa cake sandwiches stuffed with fresh cabbage, tomato, cheese, and chicken. The flavor combination and the crispy arepa make this dish special.

One of our other favorites is the baleada. It is a Honduran dish I have not seen elsewhere. It consists of a large flour tortilla spread with refried beans, sour cream, cheese, and other toppings. We got ours with chorizo and avocado. It makes the ultimate breakfast too!

I ended up ordering the breakfast plate that is called a desayuno tipico, or typical breakfast. It has all of my favorites on the platter, including two eggs cooked to order, refried beans, avocados, sour cream, and fried plantains.

Everything was beyond delicious!

I am a big lover of fried plantains. If you have never tried them, this is the place to go. They are perfectly cooked, and I love their slight sweetness.

The eggs on this plate were the most perfectly cooked eggs I have seen in my life. I asked for over medium, and they were just right.

They also have many vegetarian options, and many of the dishes can be made vegetarian. I love that they have something for everyone on their menu.

Their pupusas, a Salvadoran specialty, are something I love! They are corn masa cakes with different fillings. The mild red sauce is delicious! Don't miss ordering these!

We also decided to try three of the Honduran fruit juices displayed in a small cooler. We tried the mango, the passionfruit, and the fruit lemonade. They were all delicious and had real fruit pulp in them. They were fairly sweet, so I would suggest mixing them with some sparkling water for a refreshing drink.

Antojitos house often has specials to try out as well. They usually offer one or two aguas frescas or fresh fruit waters per day. If they have horchata or a cinnamon rice milk drink, be sure to order some.

They have limited indoor seating at this time. There is one outdoor table available right in front of the restaurant.

They cook everything to order, and their service is fast and friendly. You can also place your order over the phone or get it delivered by Grub Hub, Door Dash, Seamless, and Caviar.
