Traveling was once a typical way of life for some. Having that taken away can be difficult, however; planning not only one but multiple trips for the foreseeable future might be well-needed in order to help with stress reduction and overall happiness.

In light of planning new getaways for this upcoming year, here are a few breathtaking destinations which will easily be the best places to visit once COVID-19 is over.

Breathtaking views located on Navajo land in Arizona. This canyon is a product of millions of years of water erosion which has created the scenic strides in the rock which make for the most Instagramable shot. The canyon is known for its tall cathedrals of beautifully colored rock. Exploring the canyon is encouraged, however; you cannot do so without a guided tour. If you are a nature-lover, this is the right place to visit. Its mysterious beauty makes for a remarkable hike and lively experience. A typical guided tour averages around $150 USD.

Amid the Andes in southwest Bolivia, Uyuni Salt Flat is a prehistoric lake which went dry and left behind a desert-like canyon of bright white salt. Although you will find that wildlife is rare in this area, occasionally pink flamingoes will be spotted in the areas. This is easily one of the most beautiful areas to visit on the planet and is well worth the trip. With zero trails, the land is open to anyone for exploring and observing the natural beauty. While it is possible to tour on your own, you can also pay for guided tours which last between 3 and 4 days. Here you will hike deeper into the Altiplan which is more popular and ultimately recommended. This is definitely a once in a lifetime experience because salt plains as such are extremely rare.

The Blue Lagoon Spa

Located in southwest Iceland, this geothermal spa has been drawing people from all around the world to visit. The water is rich in silica and sulphur which improve collagen production while containing antibacterial effects against the bacteria which cause acne and pimples. The lagoon attraction also provides silica mud on the sides of the pool for guests to enjoy a mud mask for free. The temperature in the lagoon raises to about 98-102 degrees which is very comfortable and warm. The spa provides a few luxurious cocktail bars near the lagoon so you can grab a cocktail in between bathing, making it a suitable travel area for adult individuals. Due to the fact that this is an extremely popular attraction, you will need to book your reservation about 2 months in advance or else you are likely to be turned away at arrival. Fun fact, if you are planning a bachelorette, this is a great idea—I plan to do this for mine!

The Dead Sea

Bordering Israel and Jordan, this is a salt-lake in southwestern Asia. This valley has an incredibly high salt content due to evaporation being the source of water for the lake. The level of salt makes it nearly impossible to swim, making it the famous body of water to easily float in. The sea also has no fish making it an extremely safe place to enjoy a quick bathe. If you are looking for places to visit which are rich in history, this is a great place to start. Such a great day trip for a non-active but extremely enjoyable adventure.

This beach takes its name by being home to a colony of undomesticated pigs, making it one of the most popular tourist attractions in the Bahamas. The locals state that they are not sure how the pigs really ended up on the island, however there are about 20 pigs and piglets to swim with and catch amazing selfies with. If you are wondering if the hurricane damaged the island, it luckily did not, and the excursion is currently open to tourists. Day excursions to the beach are available which include transportation, food and drink as well as snorkel equipment for around $250 per person.
