BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. — Boynton Beach Police on Friday arrested and charged 52-year-old Gino Puglisi with burglary, grand theft of a motor vehicle and criminal mischief.
Puglisi allegedly broke into an auto sales shop early Friday and stole the keys to 60 cars before fleeing in a stolen pickup truck.
The police were called in reference to a burglary case at LG Auto Sales, 724 N Federal Highway.
According to the business owner, at first, a silver 2005 GMC Sierra pickup truck had been stolen from the parking lot and the entrance of the compound lock was broken.
With the lock broken, the suspect had access into the building and stole a television (valued at $1,500), laptop computer (valued at $1,000), various tools (valued at $3,000), and the keys to 60 cars on the car lot.
From the Video surveillance cameras captured, the police saw a thin White man leaving in the stolen pickup truck at around 2 a.m.
The police officers at about 12:15 pm found the stolen pickup truck being driven by a Puglisi
According to police, Puglisi sped away at a high rate of speed when he noticed the police patrol car lights and siren.
Officers pursue him until he crashed the truck at an office building at 432 W. Boynton Beach Boulevard and took flee.
After searching the area, the officers found him pretending to grill on the porch of a first-floor apartment in front of 416 W. Boynton Beach Bouelvard.
The deputies retrieved all 60 sets of keys from him.
