Research shows that getting up late and sleeping in the morning can influence health decisions you make throughout the day. Indeed, a recent study by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine has found that late sleep in men correlates with higher fast food consumption and lower vegetable consumption. Going to sleep earlier and later have also less to do with physical activity.

Sitting can have a detrimental effect on mental health, and studies show that people who sit for long periods of time have a higher risk for depression. The good news is that taking active exercise for at least an hour a day can help counteract these effects. If your job requires a lot of sitting, exercising for a few minutes each half hour can give your body and mind a boost.

You probably know already that sitting is the number one health threat of the 21st century, especially if you work outdoors. A study published in the Annals of Internal Medicine published in 2015 found that exercise alone does not protect against sedentary diseases. In the study, people who sat for eight or more hours a day raised their risk of developing type 2 diabetes by 90 percent and their risk of heart disease and cancer by 85 percent.
