July 27-Aug. 1, 2021

This fun celebration takes place on the sand and features drag racing, live music, family events, treasure hunts, and more, all on the beaches near Reedsport, Oregon.

Welcome to family fun on the dunes.

This summer, Oregon DuneFest presents six fun-filled days of camping and riding in some of the tallest sand dunes in the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area at Winchester Bay.

It’s a large area that stretches from Coos Bay to Reedsport, and the annual sand festival is headquartered in Reedsport.

The Umpqua National Forest issues the local Chamber of Commerce a permit for the six days of duning, racing, camping, shopping, music, bonfires, and family activities during the fourth week in July.

Activities Include:

FreeStyle Show

Robert Haslam is an X Games athlete. He will be performing his incredible FreeStyle show this year and it’s an event you won’t want to miss.

Here’s an interview with Robert Haslam with some great footage of his FreeStyle tricks from past shows.

Drag Strip

Dune races are action-packed.
This event is the reason many come to DuneFest.

These popular races are held on a professionally groomed sand-drag track, maintained by the Oregon Off-Road Racing Association.

The groomed 300-foot drag strip is open to all participants and races are organized by class, with prizes.

It’s a professional setup with NHRA-style drag timing lights and computer-generated time slips. They record each racers’ reaction time at the lights, 60-foot time, overall speed and elapsed time of their race.

On the first day, there’s a test and tune for all participants so riders can become familiar with launching at the lights and get a feel for the track.

There are also daily class bracket races, open to anyone.

Head to Head Short Course

This one-on-one twin loop short course track is open for all to enter. Race your friend for bragging rights. The top best times in each class during the first three days are tallied and there’s a grand finale showdown.

Races are organized by class and helmets are required.

Course is open:

Saturday — 10 am-12 pm
Saturday Shootout — 1 pm.
