This beautifully preserved 1700's estate offers so much in the way of showing how life in Colonial Times was. This Irish pub offered tasty treats to please even the most discerning palate, such as a six-year-old's... who has recently begun to venture into eating meat.

Earth Day Festival: Exploring Georgia's First Free Public Library and a Rock Star Artist

In December of 1982, the quiet town of Summerville, Georgia was rocked by the horrifying double murder of Dr. Charles Scudder and his life partner, Joey Odom. 41 years later, their deaths are still talked about and their former residence has become a pilgrimage spot for the paranormally curious and crime junkies alike. Corpsewood Manor lay in ruins, but this doesn't stop the ghostly activity that many feel takes place on the remote grounds of the Scudder-Odom residence.

In this episode, Tommy and I venture out to Jefferson, Georgia, the birthplace of anesthesia, courtesy of Dr. Crawford Long. The museum was closed, unfortunately, so we did what any non-cemetery channel would do, and visited the local burial grounds in search of some history. We weren't disappointed, though it was sad to learn this little town was once devastated by a cholera and influenza outbreak in the 1920's, that was responsible for the loss of several residents, including many children.

Known for its Marble production, this tiny town in North Georgia has some unexpected treasures with everything from its historical train depot, a cemetery that houses some of Georgia's most notable icons and founders, and also a restaurant that's been voted as one of the best hidden gems of North Georgia. Tate is a perfect stop for day trip through history and local food culture.

In this episode, Tommy and I visit Eatonton, Georgia, home to two of the state's most mysterious and little known hidden gems. Located inside the Rock Eagle 4-H Park, this ancient effigy is prehistoric and predates what we know of as indigenous tribes. Larger and better preserved than its sister site, Rock Hawk; Rock Eagle is thought provoking. Did ancient civilizations built this effigy in honor of "Sky Gods" or Alien Visitors? Or was it simply to honor the natural environment that surrounded them?

In this episode, Tommy and I travel to Bostwick, Ga to check out the Nolan Plantation, a home that wasn't actually a real plantation but rather a Tenement Farm. Built in 1905, long after the War Between the States, by James Nolan, this property once had its own cotton gin, Tenement Commissary, and so much more. It was also part of the movie, "My Cousin Vinny." Now it sits in ruin, forgotten by history, and abandoned. But don't let that fool you, she's got stories to tell.

In this episode Tommy and I explore historical DeSoto Falls. We do some hiking and some creek sitting before moving on to Helton Creek Falls where we enjoyed the engaging trails and gorgeous waterfall. We were even able to get a bit of underwater cam footage!
Both trails were totally worth the exercise and effort to get to. 10/10 recommend BOTH, but we have to admit, we're a bit partial to Helton Creek Falls because it really was an exciting trail to hike!
Once we finished chasing waterfalls, we stopped in at the Sidewinder Grill at Turner's Corner for a classic bacon cheeseburger and fries.
