St. Vincent’s Mental Asylum opened as a mental hospital in 1945 that treated male patients exclusively.

The asylum was operated by the Brothers of Mercy– a religious group that provided care for the mentally ill.

In the 1960s, a string of disturbing murders began to take place. The first documented tragedy occurred when a nurse suffocated two patients.

Later, a priest who ran the asylum known as Father Donlan was eventually murdered by the very patients he was trying to help.

St. Vincent’s Mental Asylum was permanently shut down in the 1980s. It has sat empty and vacant ever since.

The gruesome and unfortunate events that have taken place here have led many people to believe that the hospital is haunted.

Those who have visited the abandoned site report sounds of creaking, and banging doors. Some have even revealed EVP recordings of ghostly noises.

Whether or not you believe in paranormal activity, there's no denying this abandoned hospital is extremely creepy.
