A newly released list of the poorest communities in the country has been released from the online finance site known as 24/7 Wall St.
They have analyzed recent census data including the poverty rate, median household income, and unemployment rate in order to create a list of the poorest towns in each of the 50 states.
The results have been revealed and the poorest city in Iowa is Centerville with a poverty rate of 26.5%
Located in Southern Iowa, Centerville is a small city of 5,412 residents in Appanoose County.
According to data pulled, the median household income in the city is just $32,689 making it one of the poorest small cities in the country.
