Between the magical Christmas light displays, festive decorations, and tree-lighting celebrations, there are so many ways to usher in the holiday season here in the Keystone State. One of the best and most exciting holiday festivals is set to return this year and it is a must-visit destination. Keep reading to learn more.
Kennywood Park in West Mifflin is a beloved Pennsylvania amusement park located just southeast of Pittsburgh. Each winter, the park transforms into a winter wonderland known as Kennywood's Holiday Lights.
This epic light display will feature more than two million twinkling lights and the tallest Christmas tree in the state–a massive 100-foot tree decked out in lights near the entrance to Kiddieland.
The festival will also feature visits from Santa, a massive model train display, live holiday-themed shows, amusement park rides covered in lights, and plenty of fun selfie stations.
No holiday festival is complete without delicious food and Kennywood will offer a lot. Opt for warm homemade donuts, delicious deep-fried cheesecake, hot cocoa and hot toddies, or a hearty meal at Parkside Cafe.
Kennywood's Holiday Lights will be open every weekend from 5 pm until 9 pm from November until January 1st. During the week of Christmas, the park will be open every day of the week. Tickets can be purchased online in advance for just $19.99 versus $39.99 at the gate.
To buy tickets and learn more about this event, be sure to visit Kennywood's official site here or Facebook page here.
